Top Ten Tuesday: Books I Would Read Again

Top Ten Tuesday was originally hosted over at The Broke and The Bookish and is now over at Jana’s blog, That Artsy Reader Girl.

This weeks topic is all about books we could re-read forever. I’ve changed it a little (as I tend to not re-read books that often) to what I would read again in the future, whether that’s a year from now, five or even ten! These are books that hold a special place in my heart, ones that I know I will get around to again.

1. The Vampire Academy by Richelle Mead

I have only ever read this series once and since then it has been my all time favourite. I felt everything with this book. I laughed, I cried, I was angry and I got the ending I wanted. This will definitely be re-read in the future, possibly even this year.

2. The Belles by Dhonielle Clayton

the belles

One of my favourite debuts from an author this year and it was so easy to give The Belles five stars. Everything about this book was perfect, so imaginative with dark undertones, and it was a delight to read. I received it from NetGalley, but I am very close to buying a copy so I have it in person. That’s how much I loved this book.

3. The Chronicles of Narnia by C. S. Lewis

Narnia Aslan

While I haven’t read all of the books in the series, I did see the films (which I still love) and a few of the audio books. I’m still upset that they never made The Horse and His Boy into a film because that was my favourite audio book (I used to listen to them when I fell asleep at night). One day I will buy the books again and start reading them.

4. Throne of Glass by Sarah. J. Maas

While I haven’t finished this series yet, I just know that it is going to be a favourite of mine and one day I will read them again. I read the first book so quickly and loved how descriptive the writing was.

5. A Darker Shade of Magic by V. E. Schwab

Again, another series that I have yet to finish, but one that has captivated me and I am sure to read again at some point in the future. I need to get my hands on all of Schwab’s books because her writing is incredible.

6. Three Dark Crowns by Kendare Blake

I adore these book and cannot wait until the next instalment is out later on this year. They are so dark and twisted, a total page turner and a series that is likely to remain on my shelves as I will want to read them again at some point.

7. Goddess Summoning by P. C. Cast

One of the first adult series I read that perfectly captured my love for Greek mythology, this series is one that I remember devouring. I still have one book of the series left to read that I am probably going to get to in the coming months. Maybe it will spur me into reading some of my favourite ones again, such as Goddess of Spring.

8. The Hunger Games by Susan Collins

I read this series before they even said the films were being made and I absolutely loved it. I was big into dystopian at the time (it was the ‘in’ thing) and this series kept me hooked. The films were great as well, not as good as the books, so I hope that one day I get the chance to read them again.

9. Everless by Sara Holland

Again, another debut novel from 2018 that I couldn’t get enough of. I flew through this book because the idea was so unique and different from anything I had read before, and I need the next book. I don’t know if this is going to be a duology, but you can guarantee that I will be reading this again before it comes out.

10. Twilight by Stephenie Meyer

How could I not have Twilight on this list? I’ve lost count of the amount of times I’ve read this series, far too many to count, and I would love to read them. Even if it was for the last time, I need to do it. After all, this is the series that put my love of reading into high gear.

And there are my top ten books! What would you choose to add to your list?

Top Ten Tuesday: Books With Incredible Romances

Top Ten Tuesday was originally hosted over at The Broke and The Bookish and is now over at Jana’s blog, That Artsy Reader Girl.

Tomorrow is Valentines day and you know what that means…It’s the Top Ten Tuesday Love Freebie. We have free reign when it comes to choosing the topic and I decided to go with the top ten books that had incredible romances that I remember to this day.

Stay tuned for a little sneak peak of something at the end…

1. Rose and Dimitri from Vampire Academy by Richelle Mead

rose and dimitri

I loved the Vampire Academy series and I think a lot of it had to do with the relationship between Rose and Dimitri. I wanted my own Dimitri when I have finished the series. Their scenes were so intense, romantic and they would do anything for each other.

2. Celaena and Chaol from Throne of Glass by Sarah J. Maas

celaena and chaol

While I have only read three books so far in the series, I am rooting for Celaena and Chaol. I have a feeling they won’t end up together, but I have really enjoyed their interactions and the romantic scenes they had together.

3. Zoey and Stark from House of Night by P. C. Cast

house of night zoey

While I couldn’t find any fan art of Zoey and Stark, I loved them together. I stopped reading after the 8th or 9th book and I remember wishing that they would end up together. This series was full of romance and it was incredible for a 15 year old me.

4. Tris and Four from Divergent by Veronica Roth

tris and four

I read the books way before the films came out and honestly, this couple was one of my favourites and they were well portrayed on the big screen. I would say they were almost how I imaged them, but I can’t remember exactly.

5. Clary and Jace from The Mortal Instruments by Cassandra Clare

clary and jace

This fan art is exactly how I depicted Clary and Jace, because I don’t like either of the actors who have portrayed Jace. I guess they will never match the image I conjured up when I was a teenager.

6. Elena and Stefan from The Vampire Diaries by L. J. Smith

Again, a series I read before it was turned into a TV show, and I am always going to say that Elena should have ended up with Stefan. While I never finished reading the series, I loved their relationship in both the books and the TV show.

7. Bella and Edward from Twilight by Stephenie Meyer

How can I not mention them on this list. 13 year old me lived for this relationship and the book series. The book that got me into YA and the relationship that started it all.

8. Nora and Path from Hush Hush by Becca Fitzpatrick

nora and patch

The nostalgia is kicking in because I read Hush Hush years ago, but I will never forget the crush that I had on Patch. Who doesn’t love bad boys that are actually angels?

9. Lina and Hades from Goddess of Spring by P. C. Cast

One of the first adult novels that I read (I loved all the books in this mythology series) and this romance stood out to me the most. It was so different to what I normally read and I may even revisit it one day to see if I enjoy it as much.

10. Raegan and Malakai from My Secret WIP

Surprise! I thought I would add my own characters in to this top ten, because why not? These are the best images that portray the look I have in mind for Raegan and Kai. I won’t give too much of the plot away, but this is a slow burning romance, not everything happens at once, but there is a ton of chemistry between these two characters, as you can see from the few lines I’ve plucked out below.

“Then their lips touched, and a fire sparked to life. At first it was slow, their lips touching tenderly and moving slowly. It was exactly how Raegan had imagined it would be, the softness of them, the plumpness. Her nerves went crazy. Then the fire burned brighter, causing her breath to catch and she opened her lips, inviting him in. It was all the encouragement he needed.”

I won’t give away any more than that. There are probably a few things I would change, but that is for the editing process.

What would your top ten books be? Do you agree with my choices?
