My TBR For June – An Exciting Month

Last month I managed to read a grand total of 7 books, but I’m not going to be giving myself the same target for this month. This is mainly because there were two bank holidays in May and I don’t think I’ll have to time to read another 7 this month. However, I’m still going to be ambitious and choose 6 books that I would like to get around to this month.

June will be a mixture of carrying on with a few series and starting some brand new ones as well, which I am really looking forward to. My main problem will be deciding what order to read them in.

And the books are…

I am about 60% of the way through Empire of Storms, so my first goal is to finish that by Monday night (possibly today if I have the time). This series is definitely in my top ten and I am finding myself enjoying this instalment more now that there’s a bit more action. I can’t wait to see what will happen, and depending on how it ends you may find me sneaking Tower of Dawn into this months list.

After loving Scythe so much I headed straight to Amazon and ordered Thunderhead. The first book was incredible and I’m just hoping that the second one lives up to it as well. Everything about this series is so unique and I can’t wait to find out what happens to Rowan and Citra in the sequel. Something tells me it’ll be very interesting.

I am slowly making my way toward the end of the Falling Kingdoms series, with the fourth and fifth book added to this months TBR. I am obsessed with this world and all the characters, and the ending of the third just left me wanting more. I have no idea what is going to happen next but I am enjoying the ride. Also, I am living for the covers in this series. They are gorgeous! Although, unfortunately I don’t have the final and sixth book yet, but hopefully I will before I finish Crystal Storm.

Now that I have finished reading the Grisha trilogy, it is time for me to move on to a series everyone seems to love…Six of Crows. I am so excited to read more about the Grisha world and meet some new characters. I hope there’s some appearances from characters I already know of, or at least mentions of them. Fingers crossed I enjoy it even more than the original series.

Lastly, I have added A Court of Thorns and Roses, which is a series I have been meaning to start for a good few months. Everyone always says how dark and sexy this series is, so I’m intrigued, and you can’t go wrong with books about the fae. It’ll also be good to see how different it is to the Throne of Glass series. Lucky for me that I have the next two for when I finish the first.

I’m not sure if I will be able to read all of these, as some are quite big, but I’m going to give it my best shot!

What book are you looking forward to reading the most this month?

My TBR For May

For the last two months I haven’t given myself a TBR (I never stuck to them) but for this month I have some incredible books, some of which are new, and I am pretty sure of what I am going to be reading. I have already read two books this month, the first being Falling Kingdoms by Morgan Rhodes and the second is Queen of Shadows by Sarah J. Maas (both were five star reads and reviews will soon be up).

Considering the books I read are the beginning or part way through a series, I think we all know what I will be reading. I am aiming to read seven books in total this month, if possible and the next five will be the following…

Considering how much I loved Falling Kingdoms, it was the obvious choice to read the second and third book. I don’t yet have the last three books in the series, but I’m sure that if I did have them I would just binge read the whole series this month.

I also want to dive into Empire of Storms, which is absolutely huge! Even longer than Queen of Shadows, I’m sure it will be just as incredible as all the others have been. I can’t wait to read the rest of the series before the final book comes out this year.

In my recent book delivery I bought Scythe, mainly because I have heard so many amazing things about it, both on booktube and Twitter. I’m a big fan of PeruseProject and literally any book she suggests I end up loving, and this was one that she recently read. I wouldn’t put it past me to buy Thunderhead at the end of the month if I love the first book.

And lastly, I hope to finish off the Grisha trilogy by reading Ruin and Rising. Then I can finally read Six of Crows because that is the book everyone seems to love. I’m banking on the fact that if I’ve loved everything else Leigh Bardugo has written, I’m sure to become a fan of the duology.

Seven books for the month seems like a lot, especially when the most I’ve read has been six, but I’m always up for a challenge.

What books are you looking forward to reading the most this month?

My February TBR Pile

I’m cursing my self for buying so many new books because now I have no idea which ones I want to read first. Sometimes I hate setting a TBR lists because I hardly ever stick to them. Out of January’s one I managed to read 2 out of 4, which isn’t too bad I guess, but hopefully I can be better at sticking to it this month.

I had a couple of approvals on NetGalley that I have to read before the release dates and a pre-order arrived that I want to get stuck into. Last month I managed to read five in total so I am going to make the list that long. If I don’t manage to read them all, or I read more, then that’s okay.

My copy of Reign of the Fallen by Sarah Glenn Marsh arrived early and I am super excited to read it because it sounds incredible. If you haven’t heard of this book you should definitely check it out.

I felt so lucky to have been approved last minute to read The Hazel Wood by Melissa Albert, which comes out in about 5 days time. I will be jumping straight into that one today and I wouldn’t be surprised if I finish it quite quickly.

Another NetGalley approval that I need to read by the middle of the month is Between the Blade and the Heart by Amanda Hocking, which is about Valkyries and I don’t really need to know much more than that.

Finally, I am going to get around to reading Zenith by Sasha Alsberg and Lindsay Cummings, something I was supposed to read last month. There are still mixed reviews but I’m excited to give my thoughts on this NYT bestseller.

If I have enough time, I am hoping to squeeze in the fourth instalment of the Throne of Glass series, Queen of Shadows, and after the ending of the third book I can’t wait to read it. Sarah J. Mass has quickly become one of my favourite authors.

What books will you be planning on reading this month?

My January TBR Pile

At the start of the year I headed to my Goodreads account and set my reading goal as 50 books for 2018.  On average that is one a week, but we all know that sometimes you fly though books and with others it can take an age to complete them. 50 is a good number and hopefully I can reach it by the end of the year.

For January, there are a lot of books that I want to read (especially as I got a lot in the month of December). It was very difficult to choose the main four, but here they are:

I received an e-ARC of Keeper by Kim Chance from Netgalley and have already finished reading it, so keep an eye out for my review of it in the next few days.

Currently I am reading Heir of Fire by Sarah J. Maas, the third book in the Throne of Glass series. Every time I pick up this series to read I get excited (I’m just lucky I have the one after as well).

The other day I pre-ordered Zenith by Sasha Alsberg and Lindsay Cummings and as soon as it arrives you can be sure that I will be reading it. While there are mixed reviews out there already, I want to be able to make up my own mind about the first book in the Duology.

I first started reading Glass Sword by Victoria Aveyard a couple of months ago and put it on hold while I tackled some others. January will be the month that I finish it and can finally move on to Kings Cage, just in time for War Storm to come out this year.

Anything else that I manage to read this month is a bonus! As long as I can read these four, I will be happy and on track to reaching my goal of 50 books.
